Right Gauntlet

When Divide Thumb section is complete, you should have 15 sts between beg of round and first marker, 32 sts between first and third markers, and 16 sts between third marker and end of round.

Shape back of hand

K to marker, remove marker, k2, place previous 36 sts worked on holder for palm (this will span beg of round), continuing on next 27 sts only.

Left Gauntlet

When Divide Thumb section is complete, you should have 16 sts between beg of round and first marker, 32 sts between first and third markers, and 15 sts between third marker and end of round.

Shape back of hand

K to marker, remove marker, k3, place previous 36 sts worked on holder for palm (this will span beg of round), continuing on next 27 sts only.

 Thumb (both mitts alike)

Replace held Thumb sts on needles.

Next round: K across 16 sts for Thumb, pick up and knit 2 sts in gap. Join to work in the round, PM to indicate beg of round. 18 sts

Purl 1 round.

Cast off all sts purlwise.

NIGHTINGALE 

4/1/4 LPC: Slip 5 sts to cable needle, hold in front, k4, slip left-most st from cable needle to LH needle, p1, k4 from cable needle.
