Issue 33

Ok, so we’re not perfect – who is? Here is the errata for any misprints in pattern instructions. Of course, if you find any yourself, do let us know!

Ardent

Upper front

You’ll now work each side of Front separately but simultaneously. Each side of Front is separated by a semi-colon ;.

Note: Work the i-cord sts at neck edge of fronts loosely to avoid distortion.

Row 1 (RS): With A, sl1wyib, k to last 4 sts of left front, k2tog, sl1wyif, k1; with B, k1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to end. 1 st dec per front

Row 2 (WS): With B, sl1wyif, p to last 3 sts of right front, sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif; with A, sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif, p to end.

 

Left front

Short row 9 (WS): Sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif, purl to 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) sts before DS, turn.

Break yarn B, change to yarn A.

Next row (WS): Sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif, PM, p to end, resolving DS as you pass them. 28 (30, 32, 33, 36, 41, 44, 49, 52) sts

Do not break yarn. Place left front sts on hold.

With RS facing, return to held right front sts.

 

Right front

Short row 1 (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k20 (20, 21, 21, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32), turn. 1 st dec

Short rows 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 (WS): Create DS, p to last 3 sts, sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif.

Short row 3 (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) sts before DS, turn. 1 st dec

Short row 5 (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7) sts before DS, turn. 1 st dec

Short row 7 (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5) sts before DS, turn. 1 st dec

Short row 9 (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) sts before DS, turn. 1 st dec

Break yarn A, change to yarn B.

Next row (RS): K1, sl1wyif, ssk, k to end, resolving DS as you pass them. 28 (30, 32, 33, 36, 41, 44, 49, 52) sts

Next row (WS): Sl1wyib, p to last 3 sts, PM, sl1wyif, k1, sl1wyif.

Do not break yarn. Place right front sts on hold.

If a dec row falls on a yarn B row work it and the subsequent row as foll: 

Next row (RS)(dec): With yarn B, k3, SM, k to last 5 sts, brRsl dec, sl1yo, k1. 2 sts dec

Next row (WS): Sl1wyif, brk1, sl1yo, [p2tog, yo] to marker, SM, sl3wyif. Break yarn B.
