Congrats to Faith Manning who won Gudrun's beautiful book!

News + Reviews

Pom Pom went to Alexandra Palace for the Knitting and Stitching show a few weeks ago. Lydia bought some pretty darned cool Moose themed fabric from Merchant and Mills and a book to ease the sewing process.

We also said hi to Baa Ram Ewe, and came away with the cutest Dashing Dashund Kit.

...and a few extra mini skeins of Titus for colourwork fun!

We also saw the lovely folks from Navia, The Fibre Company, and Eden Cottage.

Now to our first yarn review! We had the pleasure of trying out Blacker Elegance, which is a lovely mix of Falkland Islands Corriedale and British Alpaca which comes in both DK and 4ply. Have a listen to the podcast to find out more!

For our book review we took a look at The Shetland Trader Book 2 (which you can win a copy of - see the beginning of this post), which is Gudrun Johnston's newest book. It is a wonderful book, mixing traditional Shetland lace with modern shapes.

Sophie's faves from the book were Northdale:

Nikka Vord + Hermaness Hats

Lydia is a big fan of Balta

And Belmont

Interview

We spoke to Gudrun Johnston who was in Shetland for Shetland Wool Week. Listen to hear more about how Gudrun got into designing, and what her desert island yarn would be!

Colour of the Cast

Is purple! Sophie loves Alizarin by Madelinetosh and Lydia made Tuuli in Alizarin! And of course there is the Knit By Numbers that formed the main part of Lydia's Coronis!

Top 3... Pizza toppings

Listen to find out what we chose! And let us know if there is a top 3 you would like us to do!

Thanks so much for listening (and reading)! Don't forget to get in touch with any suggestions or feedback, you can email us at podcast@pompommag.com, and say hi in the Pom Pom ravelry group!

And of course we say a BIG thank you to Blacker Yarns, our brilliant sponsors for Pomcast 6, and all round awesome producers of lovely British yarns. Pom on x
