Embroidery Stitches: Chain Stitch, Couched Running Stitch & Flower Stitch

Chain Stitch:

Step 1: Come up through A, then go down in the same place and come up through B. At the same time, catching the thread account the needle.

Step 2: Repeat to form a continual chain.

Step 3: To finish, go down after last chain through X.

Couched Running Stitch

Step 1: Work a long running stitch up through A and down through B.

Step 2: Work small stitches over the running stitch to secure it.

Flower Stitch

Step 1: Work chain stitches as follows: Work step 1 of chain stitch. Secure 'petal' with a small stitch from B to C.

Step 2: Come back up through A and work another petal in the same way.

Step 3: Repeat as many more times as you like to create your flower!
