Flip-top mitts PDF pattern by Lydia Gluck
Lightweight and convertible, these flip-tops take advantage of sock weight yarn to cut down on bulk. The slip-stitch detail on the cuff is as functional as it is fabulous, great for keeping wrists cosy.
The pattern features instructions for the open thumb shown, as well as a closed top version. And if you don’t fancy the flip-top, these work just as well as fingerless mitts, just omit the flip-top instructions.
However you want your fingers, we have them covered (or uncovered as the case may be).
3 sizes; hand circumference: 18 (20.5, 23)cm / 7 (8, 9)” at widest point
Yarn: Quince & Co. Finch (4ply / fingering weight; 100% wool, 200 m / 221 yds per 50 g skein)
Shade: Poppy; 1 (1, 2) skeins
Gauge: 28 sts & 40 rows = 10 cm / 4” over stocking stitch on 2.75 mm needles after blocking
