Episode 46 - Knitters in the Round at Pomfest: Crafting Consciously

Hi Pomcats! For this episode we have the second of our Knitters in the Round panel discussions. These crafty chats were recorded at Pomfest this summer, where our our Pom Pom pal and resident columnist Anna Maltz was joined by fellow knitters to discuss issues and ideas around that wonderful world of wool.

The topic for this talk was 'Crafting Consciously', discussing the choices we have as knitters and the environmental impact these can have. Thinking about the ethics of how we craft are -

Bristol Ivy - designer extraordinaire
Clara Parkes - author, traveler and yarn sniffer
Julia Billings - natural dyer and stitcher, know as Woollenflower
Julie Asselin - hand dyer of sumptuous yarns

Make sure to download the Soundcloud app if you want to listen on a mobile device, or if you subscribe to Pomcast on iTunes it should appear on your device now! All episodes of Pomcast are also now available on Stitcher too. And while you’re having a listen, why not rate us or even leave a little review – thanks!

We also have a little giveaway! Some of you may remember when we interviewed founder of the Craftivist Collective Sara Corbett in Episode 21, she mentioned that a book was her next project... and here it is, How to be a Craftavist!

To win a copy of this thoughtful book, we'd like you to comment below with your best haberdashery and knitting joke. Make us laugh and you could win a copy of How to be a Craftivist, plus we'll be featuring some of our favourites on our Christmas podcast next month.

Make sure you get you comment posted before midnight GMT 6th December - good luck!
