Episode 71 - Spring dreams

Hey Pomcats! We’re springing into the first ‘armchair chat’ of the year – a new working title for the Sophie and Lydia episodes!

This episode is sponsored by Purl Soho. Since 2002, Purl Soho has inspired knitters around the world with their fresh approach to traditional needlecrafts. Known for their spectacular colour, natural fibers, and approachable patterns, they love to knit as much as we do! At purlsoho.com, you can find tons of free patterns and tutorials, as well as all the supplies you need to cast on. As a special offer for Pomcast listeners, Purl Soho are offering 15% off their next order of yarn, fabric or notions - just visit purlsoho.com and enter the code POMCASTFEB at checkout. Please note that this offer may not be combined with other discounts.

HELLO

While the Pomcast hibernated over winter, we had our own adventures to update each other on. Lydia has delighted in the joys of horse riding, while Sophie launched the maiden meet-up of her volunteer-run repair cafe

NEWS

Spring is the thing on our mind as we celebrate the upcoming arrival of Issue 40! Floaty and whimsical, abstract and embellished, this selection of patterns will transport you to your yarn-filled dreamland! Shot at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Centre, you can take a peek at the whole collection on our blog here.

We chat through some of top picks including Flotti and Cloudbow, which prompts the question to the pomcats, are you pro knitted dresses?

Also on the to-knit list are Leonora with its fab use of beads and instarisa detail and the fluffy Cirriform socks (pictured below)!

WHAT ARE WE EXCITED ABOUT?

At the time of recording, we were preparing to make the trip to Unravel, our first ‘real life’ festival in the UK since the start of 2020. So it’s no surprise that the thought of seeing so many Pom pals and stalls of skeins in person has us jazzed! We’ll be sharing the sights and sounds of the festival soon, so stay tuned!

Thanks for listening! Remember you can keep in touch with us and other Pomcast listeners via our Ravelry forum here, and you can send us your musings via email (podcast@pompommag.com). To be kept informed with all the latest updates, delightful titbits, and treats, we recommend signing up to our weekly newsletter!
